Abstract
The paper starts with the relationship between language and culture, which illustrates the necessity of cultural study in English teaching. Language and culture are closely related with each other. Language is the carrier of culture; in return, culture restricts the development of language. Such kind of restrictions is manifested in the cultural differences, which is the main contents of cultural study.
More and more people, especially the English educators realize the importance of culture in English teaching. Then, they start to pay much attention to the relationship between cultural factors and language learning. Meanwhile, they explore some methods to instill the culture to students such as introducing the cultural backgrounds, comparing the cultural differences, etc..
